SEDC Video Voltage Awards 2017
4 years, $40,000. Will you win part of our next $10,000? Our 5th Annual Video Voltage Awards (VVAs) offer you the opportunity to win cash prizes that can be used any way your utility wants! Since the VVAs began, $40,000 in prize money has been used to spruce up a break room, build a community playground, provide for kids entering child protective services, and even to treat an entire utility's employees to a little extra year-end bonus. Your utility can use the award for anything you choose! There's $10,000 in prizes, but you have to enter to win.
What are you waiting for? You don't NEED A FANCY CAMERA. You can create your MASTERPIECE on your smartphone! The only requirements are a desire to have fun and, of course, a little competitive spirit.
NEW IN 2017: 1 PERSON/1 VOTE (PER DAY), EVEN SHORTER VOTING TIME, and BLIND VOTING! Voting will only last 4 days, each person can vote once each day, and you won't be able to see who's in the lead - so every vote truly matters! It's even more important to rally your co-workers, friends, and family to turn out each day to support your entry.
CHOOSE A THEME
Choose between 3 themes, and you can enter up to 2 videos using 2 different themes. Theme #1: Song and Dance Routine. Theme #2: Comedy Skit. Theme #3: Soap Opera Scene.
ADD A PROP
Make sure you include the SEDC logo in the video.
MENTION 2 PRODUCTS
Incorporate at least 2 SEDC products into your script (ie, Prepaid Metering, Mobile Workforce, Smart Apps, etc).
INCLUDE THE PHRASE
"I've got mad skills!" (Because, really, we know you do. We just want to hear you say it!)
Requirements
Rules and Guidelines
Participants must be current users of SEDC utility software. Each utility can submit up to two (2) entries.
Videos must be less than three (3) minutes in length and must be submitted in one of the following formats: QuickTime/MOV, WMV, MPEG, or AVI. The recommended minimum dimensions are 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels high.
Winners of the First, Second, and Third Place prizes will be determined solely based on the number of votes cast on the contest site.
The message of the video should be both creative and positive. There should be no derogatory material in the video toward any individual, group, or product. Any item submitted that is deemed derogatory will be disqualified.
The video must incorporate SEDC products, support or sales being spoken of and/or the SEDC logo being shown. The video may also include the same for SEDC's subsidiaries, Arista Information Systems, Futura Systems, and ATS.
The video should not contain any advertisements or endorsements of any kind and must not infringe on any third-party rights.
All entries must be uploaded to SEDC's Video Contest page at http://contests.viddler.com/SEDC/sedc-video-contest-2017 in order to be eligible for voting. Uploads will be accepted from Monday, November 27, 2017, until Friday, December 8, 2017.
Every participant in the video and the utility's General Manager/CEO must have signed the SEDC Publicity Release Form. Fax the completed form to Attn: Video Contest at 770-414-1122 or scan and email the form to news@sedata.com.
Video(s) and release forms are due by 11:59 PM EST on December 8, 2017. Late entries will not be accepted.
The video must be original work and not previously submitted for any contest or event.
Upon entry into the contest, the video becomes the sole property of Southeastern Data Cooperative, Inc. (SEDC).
The judges' decisions and voting outcomes are final.
Winners must provide copies of the original video files to receive cash award.
Prizes will be distributed to the General Manager/CEO at each winning utility.
